Signed up for InstaGC, promised you could do activities, earn points, and convert that to instant gift cards. Well I sign up for an account and earn enough to redeem a $1 Amazon card.

I go to redeem the card and I'm locked out of the store! I contact support about the issue. They tell me that my name isn't real and that I need to provide my driver's license and social security card to prove that I'm a real person. Are you kidding me?

This is a total scam!

If that wasn't bad enough they were condescending, rude, and downright hostile in every response.

Monetary Loss: $1.

customer service even makes up their own rules that are not even in the policy like they are stubborn or something , like they don't wanna be proved wrong

ID is requested at times to verify the name/address you provided to us - only at times when the system has detected an issue with your account. Your SSN would never be requested - nor needed for anything.

That's a lie, go look at all the reviews you demand sensitive personal information from people you seem to not have a Caucasian enough sounding name. They refuse because you are rude and not willing to let them provide any other form of proof.

@instagc May I offer a suggestion....try being empathetic. Not sympathetic, but empathetic.

Begin with an apology. Understand and relate to your users experiencing difficulties. Make them feel better and like you actually give a ***. Try:

I regret or I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue.

While we try to .......(show you underatand the situation), sometimes things require additional information or processing. While we strive to award points expeditiously, this additional processing can delay the awarding of points. I will be happy to look into this further for you if you could kindly provide your user name or ticket number if you have one. Again, I am sorry that you had this problem and I hope we can resolve it for you.

Even if it's just smoke up our *** it still makes us feel better.

I worked as a division technical support supervisor for a major company in their operations and support call center for 9 years. Empathy is crucial to customer service.

Companies that are *** will also get "revenge" by banning accounts and replying to put complaints like they are ready to square up. Lol.

Not Caucasian enough.... You must be mistaken. My name is very Caucasian sounding, yet I am fighting with them for rewarda, even a 31 point one that's pending for 5 days!
